DANSES DE GUADASSUAR
Descripción
The Danses of Guadassuar were declared an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC) in 2018. They are a unique expression of the intangible cultural heritage of La Ribera.
There is documentary evidence of their celebration dating back to 1742. They are traditionally held during the last full week of August, linked to the traditional period between harvesting and sowing.
One of their main values is their popular and open character: anyone can join the dance, regardless of age or experience.
The participation of local residents and their transmission from generation to generation have kept this tradition alive, with only a few interruptions since its origins.
